Level 4 ITEC Certificate in Sports Massage
I started my career as a carpenter and spent the next 16 years in the building trade, where I experienced first-hand how physical work can take its toll on the body. After picking up various injuries over the years, I found that massage therapy helped me recover — and it planted a seed of interest in how the body works and heals.
That interest grew into a passion, and I eventually took the leap and booked my first body massage course. I went on to train at St Mary’s University, where I qualified in Sports Massage at Level 4, and I’ve been working with a variety of people since 2020.
Our muscles are reactive to the way we use or don’t use them, and sometimes this causes discomfort. When we go along with the common idea that we should “tough it out,” we are normalising pain. I am driven to relieve pain, because I don’t believe that it should be the norm. Anyone can benefit from Sports Massage; the soft tissue techniques involved have a lot to offer for overall health and wellness, as well as in injury rehabilitation alongside other treatment modalities.
I take a tailored approach to every treatment, always working within each person’s comfort level — because I believe massage doesn’t have to be painful to be effective. I enjoy helping people from all walks of life, whether they’re dealing with injuries, physical tension, or just in need of some relaxation.
Outside of work, I like to stay active and spend as much time outdoors as possible — especially hiking.
