Louise Acher

BSc Hons Sports Therapy Health and Fitness, Level 3 Diploma Sports Massage Therapy

I qualified as a Sports Therapist in 2005 at The University of Medway, Kent. Over the years I have worked as a Sports Therapist with semi-professional football teams and professionally with athletes.

I have a big love for sport, especially long distance running, which I have been doing for 20 years completing so far 6 marathons and 1 ultra. I know how it feels to enjoy a sport you love, build confidence and have a positive mindset in order to achieve goals and succeed, though it is not always plain sailing! Injuries, aches and pains prevent our bodies from fulfilling our potential, which is frustrating.

We can all benefit from regular sports massage not just those that take part in a sport. Sports massage doesn’t just loosen up tight and tired muscles, reduces muscle tension, improve flexibility and reduces pain and discomfort in the muscles. Regular Sports massage can also help relieve stress and anxiety and increase the sense of well-being.

This is where I come in, with the right advice, support and treatment, sports massage, injury rehabilitation and positive energy to get you back to doing the sport you love pain free and with confidence.

Sports rehab programs help prevent further injury and improve physical fitness. Gentle exercises can make a huge difference to one’s mobility.  I have lots of experience in sport and exercise after also qualifying as a Personal Trainer, which gives me the knowledge to give individual programs for the client’s individual needs. I believe that regular sports massage is key to maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

My reward in my work is seeing people walk away pain free and happy in their lives through either sport or just the general activities of daily living.
