What is Osteopathy for Runners?

Osteopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare. It focusses on the entire body.  Osteopathy is effective at helping with imbalances of the body and improving your health.

I treat every runner as an individual, taking in to account your goals and ensuring that your treatment plan aligns with your needs.

Common Running Injuries

Here are some of the common running injuries that I treat:

  • Runner’s Knee (Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome)
  • Shin Splints (Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome)
  • Achilles Tendonitis
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • IT Band Syndrome
  • Strains and sprains 

How can Osteopathy for Runners benefit me?

  • Posture and body alignment: Osteopathy focuses on improving overall posture. I do this by addressing restrictions in your spine, joints and muscles.  This promotes efficient movement and reduces the risk of injury.
  • Flexibility and Joint mobility:  I use techniques such as sports massage, stretching and dry needling. My aims are to alleviate muscle tension and improve flexibility. This will help to improve your running form.
  • Injury prevention: I will help to identify muscle imbalances before you get injured.  Maintenance treatments can be a proactive measure to keep you on track.
  • Recovery and rehabilitation: If you have an injury, my aim is to enhance the your built-in healing abilities. I do this by addressing the root cause of your injury. My goal is to reduce inflammation and pain. I use massage to improve blood circulation and restore normal function.


Osteopathy can be part of your running routine. It can be a proactive step to help you keep chasing your goals and PB’s.
